All age groups train at Inchyra Park in the warmer months and in the Winter months training is on artificial surfaces.
Central Girls Football Academy considers that female sports require a specific programme to maximise performance in training and games. Although we run a successful boy’s section we do not have a one size fits all training programme and our girls enjoy, although as equally challenging as the boys, but with a different focus. Research identifies the most important factors that influence girl’s participation and increase their desire to reach their full potential. Our coaches are made aware of the nuances before they work in our programme and what we provide is a positive, nurturing and empowering environment for our female players to flourish. As part of our female sign up we encourage all our players to sign a pledge with Soccer Without Borders which links into UNICEF to enable girls and women of all cultures and backgrounds to be identified as equals. Central Girls Football Academy coaches welcome all females to Central and see you as who you are an equal amongst all in sport.
Sport for many females by the time they reach teenage is something they are likely to walk away from however when looking at industry leaders we see sport as having a positive outcome. Many life skills revolve round sport, specifically team building, friendships, independence, leadership to name a few. It is critical that we identify the factors that allow girls to walk away from the sport, which translates to over 70% by the time they’re teenagers and in their 20’s closer to 90% do less than the recommended daily physical activities.We will be able to provide support through specific training, identified needs of the individual and communication through the clubs Inspire and Welfare Officer, a club based specialist who provides a confidential service of support tackling any issues that may affect the player personal life either within football or not.
